Hip Curve - The Curve between numbers 1 and 17 is often used to alter hip lines, princess lines, one-piece sleeves and hem lines.

French Curve - The Curve between numbers 13 and 26 is often used to alter or mark armholes and to adjust sleeve caps and necklines.

Straight Ruler - The Straight Edge ruler with measurements marked off in 1/8" increments is used to alter side seams and shoulder seams, to lengthen and shorten the bodice, crotch depth and hemlines, and to help position the pattern on the fabric so it is even with the grain.
